LP4Y
The aim of Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y) is to use entrepreneurship to both professionally and socially integrate excluded young adults living in extreme poverty in various countries in Asia, advocate on their behalf, and encourage innovative entrepreneurial initiatives supporting youth inclusion.

As a P&G Alumni, she provides LP4Y with time, funds, and a network from her professional life. She has been committed to LP4Y since 2014, starting in the US, and then registering the charity in the UK six years ago. As a member of LP4Y England’s board, she takes an active part in its advocacy and fundraising activities in London.
“LP4Y’s relentless efforts towards the social and professional inclusion of young adults living in extreme poverty has never been more relevant than in today’s world. Since 2020, 90 million people have fallen into extreme poverty which is unprecedented in 20 years. LP4Y is working to relieve as many youth as possible from extreme poverty, thanks to its innovative and proven entrepreneurial approach.” Marie-Laure Vaganay
LP4Y has created and runs a variety of entrepreneurial programs, believing that young people facing extreme poverty and exclusion are fully capable if they have a professional setting that encourages them to gain self-confidence and develop their potential. In the slum dwellings of major cities in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Nepal and Myanmar, LP4Y operates 20 Training and Development Centers.
Life Project 4 Youth aims to make young adults and victims of exclusion ‘entrepreneurs of their lives’ and ‘actors of change’ in their communities. More than 2,400 young adults coming from extreme poverty have graduated from its programs, and more than 19,400 people have been positively impacted. The TDC Taguig is an existing program opened in 2014. Since then, 201 young adults have been socially or professionally integrated, of which 48% are women.

The $20,000 of Alumni grant funds will provide 72 young adult participants with ‘Life Project Money’ – biweekly allowances that cover basic daily needs such as food, hygiene, and transportation to come to the center. This allows them to focus full-time on their training, learn to manage a budget and become financially independent. Funds will also be used to support operational expenses, rent of space for workshops, training sessions and transportation for company visits. It is expected that this initiative will translate to 54 new jobs and impact more than 800 family and community members.
“Learning to Teach”
I have only been in the LP4Y program for two months but I can see that all the skills they teach help youth to be confident when they’re looking for a job. My former classmates are working in companies and changing their lives. I am willing to do the same to be a successful woman someday.
“Thanks to LP4Y I have developed my capacity to adapt and to participate in any kind of project has increased. I now provide training to the community, organize events, lead a team and manage communication projects. My career plan is to be a teacher in the long term. In the short term, I plan to work in business process outsourcing.” Marchil Yting, LP4Y entrepreneur
