Marie Laure Vaganay is very active with LP4Y. She put together a team of Trustees, executive Board members and a team of 20 LP4Y “Ambassadors” with the mission to increase LP4Y awareness and raise funds. Her fundraising activities for have included Transatlantic regattas, a 900 km bike challenge, an orientation car race across the desert of Morocco and a Gala dinner at the residence of the French ambassador to the UK.

“I am moved by the intense testimonials I hear from the LP4Y alumni who managed to find their path to a decent life. Two days ago, on Facebook, I read this post from a young adult who went through the LP4Y pedagogy and became the first president of the LP4Y Alumni Club in Manila. He got hired by the Philippines National Police! Here is his post: “Wait until you become!” That says it all, doesn’t it?- Marie Laure Vaganay

Since 2009, LP4Y has developed and replicated across Asia a unique professional and social integration model for extremely marginalized Young Adults known as the “Professional Training for Entrepreneurs” (PTE) program.

In rural areas LP4Y has also developed and operates its ‘Green Villages (GV)’ program, underway now in three villages in the Philippines, India and Nepal. The program includes workshops that provide extensive training in soft (people) and hard (operational) skills, support micro-enterprise development and connect participants to community services to boost self-confidence, enhance English speaking/writing and develop IT and financial literacy. LP4Y programs are extensive/high-depth and full-time.

2020 P&G Alumni Foundation grant of $20,000 will provide “life-project money” a limited weekly allowance that supports the improvement of money management responsibility and supplements household income for women participating in the Budhanilkantha Green Village initiative. This helps drive the creation of 120 new jobs, 220 individuals trained, and impacts the lives of 1,760 family and community members.

“Boosting Confidence with Knowledge”

Shilpa counted herself lucky when she was provided an opportunity to join the training.  With the training, she significantly improved her English language skills. But more importantly she gained confidence in herself. The young girl genuinely believes that by the end of this training she will learn invaluable skills leading to a rewarding job.

“In the past few weeks, I have been learning things that I had never heard of before. I am always thinking of ways to boost my knowledge and skills.” – Shilpa
